Past: Historic and Primitive Skills: Making Deer Tallow Balm

Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center

Registration period: November 8 - December 10

Our ancestors utilized many parts of the deer they harvested. Many products such as candles, skin moisturizing skin balms, soaps, fire starters, etc. can be made from deer fat (tallow). Come learn how to convert deer fat to a useable staple the old-fashioned way and you will never buy skin balm again.

Only registered participants may attend the program.
