Past: Cape Girardeau County Genealogical Society Meeting

Zoom

Join us for our November 25 meeting! The meeting "room" will open at 6:30 p.m., and the formal meeting will begin at 7. This one is one of those where we meet via Zoom, and we have a great program lined up. Our speaker will be Patti Hobbs, CG, who will present "Tracking Territorial Families through Missouri Repositories: The Families and their Records."

This program is about Patti’s territorial family in Missouri. She tracked them into Missouri and then used documents from various Missouri repositories about them. If you have a family that came into Missouri prior to statehood, or if you want to learn more about the resources available for Missouri during that period, you will not want to miss this case study!

Patti Lee Hobbs, a Certified Genealogist since 2014, holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and lives in southwest Missouri. Her childhood reading consisting of detective novels and a college history class sparking a love of history made genealogical research a logical meshing of the two. The college biology classes made it easy to integrate DNA testing as an additional tool when it became available. Patti volunteers as a trustee of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, as a BCG Education Fund trustee, as president for the Ozarks Genealogical Society, and serves on the editorial board for the National Genealogical Society Quarterly. Patti is a contributing author of Advanced Genetic Genealogy: Techniques and Case Studies.
