Past: Cape Girardeau Civil War Roundtable

The Cape Girardeau Civil War Roundtable will meet Sunday, Oct. 20 at Hanover Lutheran Church. A video of the battle of Stones River which was fought Dec. 31, 1862 to Jan 2, 1863 will be shown. The Union squeaked out a victory in a blood conflict, which boosted morale in the North and gave the Federals control of central Tennessee. An uncoordinated attack by Gen. Braxton Gragg's Conferedate Army of the Tennessee worked in favor of Maj. Gen. William S. Rosecrans's Union Army of the Cumberland.
